Basic Web Sites
Our Basic Website package includes 5 pages, 1 background graphic, 1 title
graphic, navigational links (graphic or text), up to 8 photos, your
content and a contact form. Basic Web Sites start at $250.00.
Custom Web Sites
The Custom Website package is a fully customized website with the
following features.
Web Site Make-Over
If you have an existing Web site that is outdated or you are no longer
happy with it, we can give it a brand new look. Making over a site can
often take as long as starting new. But it can cost you less if we use the
basic structure of your existing site. That means we use the same pages
and content, and build on that using new navigational elements and site
graphics. We can redo the layout of the pages to make them more readable
or pleasing to the eye. The same features listed above apply.
Consultation
Knowing the purpose of your website is the first step. Many sites are put
online just because a competitor has one. Some businesses do very well on
the internet and many others do not. It is very important that you
determine if your business will benefit from being on the internet before
you invest money into a website.
Text
Although a web page can be as long as you want, it is best to limited the
page length to no more than 5 screens when at all possible. Text can be
provided to us electronically via e-mail, on a floppy (pc formatted),
cd-rom, or printed. Text should be in its final form or there could be
charges for editing.
Title Graphics
The main page graphic is the front door to your website. Visitors should
gain a feel for who you are and the purpose of your site through this
graphic.
Second level title graphics often serves different purposes. They can be
included in the navigational structure of secondary pages providing a
title and continuity for the site.
Navigational Graphics
Navigation is achieved through the use of buttons (most
often down the side), bars, image maps, and text links. Most sites
benefit from a combination of these methods, ensuring that all visitors
are able to take advantage of your entire site.
Background Graphic
A background graphic will be provided utilizing the clients color
preference. The image or color chosen is very important. It can make or
break the readability of any text. Any image that is used as a background
must not interfere with the text on top of it. It is also important to
remember that the web browser allows a user to specify his own colors. It
is possible that a dark background and light text could be utterly
unreadable should a visitor come to your site with their default
background color set as white. Printing also becomes a problem.
One recommended method consists of using a border background which is a
white of very light background color with a strip of coordinating and
contrasting color or pattern down the left side. A good example is the
background graphic used on this site.

These will be provided as needed.
Photos and Graphics
A Web site can be greatly enhanced with the placement of appropriate
photos or graphics. Remember, although a picture can speak many words, on
the web that picture can take much longer to download. It is important
that all images used be designed to convey the ideas necessary while not
causing long wait times for your visitors.
We reduce images to their minimum size while maintaining an acceptable
picture quality. When large images are necessary, thumbnails are used.
We will scan any images you already have or find the appropriate images
from our extensive image libraries.
Email Links
Links to your E-Mail address is provided on every page of your site for
the convenience of your visitors.
Contact Form
The easiest way for your visitors to contact you is with an e-mail contact
form. If you are in the business of selling, it is an excellent way for a
customer to ask for more information about a product or service. Since you
can ask for their name, address, and phone number it is a good way for you
to develop a database of potential customers.
Web Page Installation
Once your site is completed it will need to be put online. This can either
be with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) or an independent hosting
company. We will work with which ever option you choose to get your
directories set up and your Web site working.

Meta Tag and Keyword Descriptions
Proper preparation of the pages with keywords, descriptions and Meta Tag
are vital to the successful ranking of your Web site with the search
engines.
The meta description tag is used to assist those search engines which are
meta capable in summarizing your Web site. It must tell the reader what
they will find on the Web site. The size of the meta description tag
should be under 200 characters. META tags work for InfoSeek, Altavista,
and Web Crawler, while Excite and many others use content and titles.
It is important that the first text on your pages contain a summary
paragraph of your web page which can be used by the Search Engines which
do not use meta tags. It should contain the common keywords and phrases
that will be used in searching for your site. It should also be under 200
characters in length.
Better results can be obtained with the keywords meta tag by using a
narrow set of keywords than you do with a broad set. Each page should have
its own set of key words and unique description. This also means that each
page needs to be registered individually with the search engines.

The package price includes minor updates (price changes, text
modifications, etc.) for 60 days. During this time we recommend that
someone on your staff learn to do updates but if you prefer we will put
together a maintenance package that will suit your needs.
